The WSES PTA is looking for three members to serve on this year’s Nominating Committee.

What’s a Nominating Committee?
The Nominating Committee will work together to identify potential candidates to serve on the PTA Executive Board for the 2022-2023 school year. It’s a great opportunity for someone who wants to be involved in the future of the PTA! Nominating Committee members must be current paid members of the PTA. (You can still become a member for only $15!)

*If you are considering serving on the Executive Board, please do not volunteer for the Nominating Committee.

PTA Virtual Meeting, Important Votes, Tonight (2/9) at 7pm

The PTA will hold a virtual membership meeting tonight, Wednesday February 9th at 7pm online at the following URL: https://myfcpsk12.zoom.us/j/96635481010

In addition to regular business, the PTA will be holding two important votes. The first is whether to amend the previously approved budget. The approved budget reflected only the net revenue of $20,000 for the Boosterthon Fun Run, instead of accurately reflecting an anticipated revenue of $40,000 and expenditures paid back to Boosterthon in the amount of $22,000. The second vote will be on which school supply kit vendor to choose for the upcoming school year.

Gingerbread House Contest is Back!

Enter your most creative gingerbread creations in the second annual PTA Gingerbread House contest! Construct your house in any medium — food, Lego®, a drawing — the possibilities are endless! The PTA will accept submissions November 30 to December 13 using this link.

Parents or guardians may submit their child’s entry using the form, or via the email addressed listed on the form page if for some reason it is not going through. Voting will take place December 14-18. The contest is open to K-6 students AND teachers, with prizes for the winners.

PTA ByLaws Update Available for Review

The Virginia PTA has adopted a new, uniform format for ByLaws for all local units, ours included. The Willow Springs Elementary School PTA proposed ByLaws have now been posted for review by the membership, and a vote to adopt the new ByLaws will occur once they have been available for 30 days. Virtual Auction is in Full Swing!

Our fall virtual auction fundraiser is almost at the halfway point, and we’ve raised just over 75% of our goal! Visit http://willowspringspta.net/auction to see and bid on all 100+ amazing items. There are experiences, tours, events, gift cards, and more generously donated by the local community. Many of these items will make great gifts for the upcoming holiday season! You can even place proxy bids that will automatically bid the minimum amount up to a capped amount you choose.
