Enter your most creative gingerbread creations in the inaugural PTA Gingerbread House contest! Construct your house in any medium — food, Lego®, a drawing — the possibilities are endless! The PTA will accept submissions November 30 to December 13.

Parents or guardians may submit their child’s entry using this form, or via the email listed at the top of the form. Voting will take place December 14-18. The contest is open to K-6 students AND teachers, with prizes for the winners.

Voting for our pumpkin design contest is now live! We had so many incredible entries, and we hope you enjoy looking through them. (If you submitted pumpkins, please click here to help us find the artists behind a few entries.) All the entrants can be viewed in random order by clicking here. After you’ve chosen your favorite, vote at the bottom of that page!

We have some amazing pumpkin designs that have been submitted to our contest! Unfortunately, we learned that with modern smartphone images being so large, the website struggled a bit with submissions. There are 12 images that came through without any info – the artist’s name, parent’s name, teacher, and grade level. If you submitted one of these pumpkins pictured below, please email pumpkin@willowspringspta.net with your info!

Do you have a perfect princess pumpkin or a ghoulishly delightful pumpkin?  Share your pumpkin creation with the school at our PTA virtual pumpkin decorating contest.  Upload a photo to our Pumpkin Decorating Contest by 10/23 and come back on 10/26 to vote for your favorite in groups K-3, 4-6, and Teachers.  The pumpkins with the most votes on 10/30 will receive a frightfully awesome prize.

2019-2020 yearbooks have arrived! There are opportunities to pick up your copy today (Monday) from 12:00-6:00pm or on Saturday, September 19th from 10:00am-4:00pm. If you missed the deadline for our preorders, no worries. We have several copies available for purchase. The cost is $25.00 and can be purchases via cash or check made out to Willow Springs PTA. See the Willow Springs PTA Facebook Page for details on the pickup location as well as announcement on future pickup times.

Were you out of town or unavailable to pick up your child’s laptop? Have you decided that your child(ren) would like to use an FCPS device this year?

In the event you were unable to attend our laptop distribution, please contact our main office at 703-679-6000 to schedule a pick up time.

Throughout these first few weeks, we have reconnected with WHY we chose education and we have discussed our personal and professional commitments for this school year. As a school, we will keep equity at the center of our work, and ensure students and staff feel that they are welcomed, they belong, and they are valued members of the WSES community.

We know that this important work cannot be done alone as we advocate for our children. It is time to shift the system and respond to our call to action. As stated by Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, “To do nothing is to allow for the maintenance of racism.”
